NBC's The Sing Off Expands, But Won't Go Live

Nick Lachey Production began this week on NBC's a capella competition The Sing-Off, which is being pre-taped over the next few weeks to air this fall. That means even though the show has been upgraded to regular series status, NBC and the show's producers have opted not to try and make The Sing-Off a live TV event (in the vein of American Idol or The Voice). That's partly to accommodate the college students who make up many of the show's a capella groups. "If the shows were live between September and December, we wouldn't be able to have them in the competition," says NBC alternative series executive vice president Paul Telegdy. "It's one of the reasons we always shoot it at a certain time of year, as we don't want to disadvantage the collegiate groups." Sara Bareilles is the new judge on NBC's The Sing-Off Because it's pre-taped, The Sing-Off also doesn't include a viewer vote as part of its elimination process. But Telegdy believes that's an advantage: A capella singing is a highly technical music form — and the executive says he wouldn't want the show to turn into another popularity contest. "This is a very specific competition," he says. "That's the differentiation, we really rely on the judges' expertise and detailed analysis. What these guys are doing is extremely complex." The final episode of The Sing-Off will be live, however, which means viewers will indeed get to vote for the show's ultimate winner. That finale is currently scheduled to air on Monday, Nov. 28. The Sing-Off also pre-taped its shows (with a live finale) in 2009 and 2010, back when the competition aired as a weeklong special event during the holidays. Behind NBC's Sing-Off decision But now that the vocal contest is heading into fall and being expanded into a two-hour weekly showcase, it will pit 16 a capella groups against each other (up from 10 last year), competing for a cash prize and a Sony Music deal. "The caliber of these groups grows and grows," Telegdy says. "It's people from all walks of life, all backgrounds, races and creeds. And age-wise it's incredibly diverse, from teens to people more seasoned." Telegdy says there are a capella groups that now organize specifically for the series, and that past contestants are now forming other groups. In one example, Jeremy Lister — a tenor for last season's second-place Sing-Off finisher, Street Corner Symphony — has now formed a new a capella group for The Sing-Off and is serving as its musical director. On Thursday, The Sing-Off's season premiere episode was taped at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif., as the first eight groups performed in front of judges and a live audience. The other eight groups were set to compete Friday night for episode two. Two groups were eliminated on Thursday, with another two set to be cut on Friday. That will leave 12 groups heading into episode three; NBC is scheduled to air a total of 11 episodes this season. Despite the sheer number of people who will be privy to the competition's results — not only studio audience members, but friends and family of the show's 16 competing groups — Telegdy says he's not worried about spoilers leaking out. Telegdy says he's particularly proud of the show's choice for new judge, singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, who has experience performing with an a capella group in college. Bareilles, who replaces Nicole Scherzinger (now on Fox's The X-Factor), joins returning judges Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five) and Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men). Other tweaks to the show include an enhanced set and more weekly challenges, Telegdy says. "We're always evolving the show and challenging ourselves to do better." Lindsay Lohan: I Cant Afford Therapy!

La, Calif. --- She came back to the court on Thursday for any progress set of her probation stemming from her drunken driving and misdemeanor thievery cases. Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley gave Judge Stephanie Sautner an update on Lohan's court-purchased community service hrs, shoplifters alternative course and court-purchased mental counseling. Holley told a legal court that Lohan hadn't began counseling yet, because of financial issues. She stated the actress was trying to find out if she was qualified for insurance with the Screen Stars Guild and stated she couldn't afford to cover counseling by herself. Holley noted that Lohan was unable to attend free or affordable group counseling, because of privacy issues. "I'm not going group counseling on her, I would like one-on-one," Judge Sautner stated. "She needs to get involved with counseling, I am likely to offer her a 3 week period...If she does not possess the means, maybe she knows someone who might help... hire a company having a charge card who are able to help." Lohan then informed her attorney - who relayed the content towards the judge - that they would start therapy within a 3 week period. "Basically do not have proof in a 3 week period, I'll revoke probation and hang a formal hearing," the judge cautioned the actress. Earlier in the court, Judge Sautner advised Lohan not to delay her mandated community service hrs in a downtown La women's center and in the La County morgue. She cautioned the actress that her work obligations wouldn't be permitted being an excuse if she doesn't complete her needed two months price of community service within eight several weeks. " I'd rather not hear, 'Oh, I could not get it done because I had been about the set from the John Gotti movie,'" Judge Sautner stated. "Believe me, she'll be held to that particular deadline." Lohan arrives in court again on October 19 for an additional progress report. The actress, who carried a black dress and metallic silver vest, was seen smiling in the finish from the progress report.

Do you think that the metalcore/deathcore scene is the most annoying scene ever created?

I do! GRRR! I can't stand the core scene teens (I'm 17, so I am a teen
typing this), they are in-your-face annoying and are very flamboyant.
I hate how they dress and they starve themselves for attention because
they think it makes them look cool. Their taste in music is also VERY
terrible. I can't stand those bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Asking
Alexandira, A Day To Remember, Avenged Sevenfold, Escape The Fate,
iwrestledabearonce, Attack Attack, Suicide Silence, etc.

Is there anyway I can convince my mom's to change her mind?

I asked a question similar to this one a while ago. It was about the
midnight premiere of Harry Potter, and how she wouldn't let me go.
Well, after her thinking for about two weeks she told me that I wasn't
allowed because the doesn't want to have to pick me up at 3 in the
morning, and she doesn't want me out at 3 in the morning. We just went
to pre-buy tickets for the next showing (i think it's around 11am.)
And when I asked the lady who works there about the midnight premiere
there are only 20 seats left and it is going to one of their craziest
nights. On the way home from buying the tickets my sister and I were
trying so hard to be thankful, but we both just looked at each other
and started crying. We tried to explain to our mom how much this means
to us but she wouldn't listen. My sister and mom started fighting and
the next thing I know my mom is calling the movie stupid which made my
sister and I more upset. I love my mom, but I feel she has NO CLUE how
much this means to my sister and I. This is honestly our childhood,
and means the world to us. What can I do? I am so upset and i'm trying
to be happy but nothings working? There are only 20 seats left and I
SO BADLY WANT TO GO.

The Hangover Part II is a 2011 American black comedy movie that sequel to 2009's The Hangover. The movie actors Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. Todd Phillips directed a script created by him, Craig Mazin and Scot Armstrong. The movie was produced by Legendary Pictures and offered by Warner Bros Pictures. Production started in October 2010 and the movie was introduced within the U . S . on May 26, 2011. 2 years after their adventure in Las Vegas, Stu (Ed Helms), Phil (Bradley Cooper), Doug (Justin Bartha), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) are flying to Thailand to have fun Stu's impending wedding to Lauren (Jamie Chung). Much to Alan's dismay, they are accompanied by Lauren's youthful brother, Teddy (Mason Lee). Throughout Lauren's father's (Nirut Sirijanya) toast, he exhibits his disapproval of Stu by checking him to rice porridge. At the finish of the evening, Stu hesitantly joins Phil, Doug, Alan and Teddy for a beer. Staying at a campfire and roasted marshmallows, the group toast to Stu and Lauren's future enjoyment. The next morning, Phil, Stu and Alan, along with gangster Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) (whom Alan befriended after Las Vegas) and a sequence-cigarette smoking capuchin monkey, awaken in a unclean resort room in Bangkok. Stu has a face tattoo, and Alan's head is completely shaven. However, they are unable to look for Teddy, solely detecting his severed finger. Chow begins recalling the occasions in the earlier evening, but his heart halts when snorting a line of drug. Panicked, the trio eliminate Chow's physique in an ice machinery. Determined and out of signs, Phil as soon as again calls Doug's wife Tracy. Stu then has an epiphany and the trio rushes again to the resort and discover Teddy within the elevator unharmed (albeit still lacking a finger). Teddy had woken up in the middle of the evening to get extra ice for his severed finger (after the first bucket of ice had melted) but grew to become trapped after the ability went out. The four use Chow's speedboat, the keys for which have been in Teddy's pocket, to journey again to the marriage reception. Arriving just as Lauren's father is about to cancel the marriage, Stu makes a defiant speech where he rejects being boring and instead states that he is actually fairly wild. Impressed, Lauren's father gives the couple his blessing. After the marriage continues on, Alan presents Stu with a particular gift on the publish-reception dance: a musical guest performance by Mike Tyson. Teddy later understands that he had taken many footage during the evening on his cell phone. Once again, the group, along with Tyson, agree to look at the photographs collectively as soon as before erasing the evidence of their exploits. The display goes black as the group (reacting to the first movie) exclaim in shock to the images (which, just like the first movie, play over the final point credit).

I need help finding a drum&bass song (it has thunder/rain sounds at the end)?

Sorry but i don't know much about the song.. I remember it had a woman
vocalist and that it had thunder/rain sounds at the end of the song. I

name of a movie about soldiers that are given pills?

what i remember is that they were in a desert in a war, the soldiers
were given pills (some of the soldierdidnt take them) and that there
are scenes when the soldiers get letters and videos from their loved
ones and one of the videos recieved by a soldier was his
wife/girlfriend having $EX with another man (POSSIBLE SPOILER) i think
in the end of the movie the soldiers that took the pills that were
gaven to them died while the others survived

it was a really good movie but i was sleepy while watching it can some
one please help me find the movie ive been looking for it forever with
no results :( some one please help me
