Woodsy Woodpecker Movie Developing at Universal
Guess who? Based on the Hollywood Reporter, Universal and Illumination Entertainment -- the animation hub behind 'Despicable Me' and 'Hop' amongst others -- will synergy again to make a large-screen version of Woodsy Woodpecker. Debuting in 1940 (using the voice of Mel Blanc), the Woodsy Woodpecker cartoons rose to prominence through the next two decades. Plenty of which had related to the cartoon's legendary theme, the only real song ever from the video clip to obtain nominated to have an Academy Award.
